Hevesi Journal is a documentary wedding photographer in NYC, shooting weddings across New York — from Queens and Manhattan out to Long Island and the Hudson Valley.
We’re Katie & David — a husband-and-wife team who photograph New York weddings built around real emotion rather than staged moments. We move quietly through the day, watching for the quiet interactions, the laughter on the sidelines, and the small in-between moments that are easy to miss while you’re living them.
We’re based in Atlanta and shoot in New York throughout the year. Travel is structured into the quoted investment, so there are no surprise line items — you get the same two-person team, the same calm presence, and the same hand-finished edit you’d get if we lived down the block.
Our work is documentary at heart and editorial in craft. We’re a film wedding photographer in the literal sense — actual 35mm stock, shot alongside digital on every wedding, developed rather than simulated. Photo and film collections are available, and many New York couples book combined coverage led by the same team.

Our wedding photographs aren’t overly staged or trend-driven. They focus on real emotion, natural light, intentional pacing, and the atmosphere of the day — the things that make a wedding feel like yours and no one else’s.
We want the gallery to feel the way the wedding felt, not like a performance. That means we’re patient. We shoot digital alongside 35mm film, we document relationships rather than poses, and we edit by hand toward warm, timeless tones you’ll still love in twenty years. What’s left is honest, considered, and quietly editorial.
